Home grown

There's nothing more exciting than eating something you've grown yourself. This is our first really bountiful harvest from our Satsuma mandarine orange tree. It's a funny little tree that has weathered being eaten down by the deer it's first year. So it's sort of upside down and all the fruit grows only on the bottom. The boys have enjoyed watching the oranges appear and then turn orange. Picking oranges will always remind us of Grandmas garden and the time honored tradition of picking oranges at Grandma's.

It's pretty exciting being farmers ourselves

Kids get so into picking things they gave grown. It teaches them to appreciate where their food comes from. Great pics! We'll have to come over and pick some. Calum enjoys anything he can peel.
